We are a non-profit registered Canadian charity organization.
Each year we work with hundreds of people who are either homeless or struggling with addictions. In addition to reaching out to families in the community and people on the street, we operate a residential men’s recovery program. We opened our doors October 2001, we incorporated on December 8, 2004 (S-48419), and also became a non-profit registered charity in 2005.
We assist and support those who are homeless and struggling with addictions. We provide food, supportive housing, counseling, life skills and relapse prevention programs. We also provide assistance in procuring employment, vocational and educational training. Our purpose is to train and enable individuals to lead lives that are Christ centered. Our focus is not only helping the addict “get clean” but also “stay clean” and to bridge them back into the community as productive citizens.
Psalm 23 Transition Society strongly believes in our commitment to provide quality programs, dedicated staff and adequate housing. Upon completion of our program each resident will:
-
Possess a knowledge of the process of chemical addictions and how their addiction has impacted them specifically
-
Have developed and be committed to a recovery program based on spiritual principles
-
Possess a knowledge of relapse prevention and how to recognize and respond to relapse in their own recovery
-
Be medically stable, and have a clear course of action for any medical problems which need further treatment
-
Be psychiatrically stable
-
Have upgraded their schooling
-
Working or attending school to help them with obtaining employment
-
Be off the welfare system
-

Our houses nurture the hope and desire for freedom from addiction, which lie within every addict. We work towards this goal together with the support of the community, and by the Grace of God.
