Recovery takes time, money and material!
Finacial Giving: The cost for each resident to go thru our program, works out to $ 850.00 per month (this pays for administration, maintenance, staff, program, facilities, food and utilities). 97% of the residents are on welfare and the maximum that they can pay is $ 450.00 per month. 3% of the residents are on disability, EI or working, the maximum they pay is $ 600.00 per month. As you can see there is a shortfall for each resident. To be successful and to provide the necessary support to the men we have to raise awareness to potential donors. We are working towards significantly increasing our monthly donor support to make up the difference. We have a few innovative ways that you could partner with Psalm 23 Transition Society. Ways of making a Donation:
The adopt a bed program is designed for donors who would like to help a man get the help that is needed to change his life around. You would help in the means of toping up the monthly cost of a residents stay. This will help pay for the individuals needs such as staffing, counseling, meals, rides to recovery meetings, Alpha, Bible study and to church.
Sponsor a staff member – (paying the full wage or part of the wage of a staff member) This is a great opportunity for the “Missions Budget” within your church to partner with Psalm 23 Transition Society. Our mission field is here in our communities, not only in another country. To be successful in providing adequate programs, teachings, support, counseling and spiritual teachings we must have experienced staff in all of these areas. Your church or business could help sponsor some or all of a staff wage per month. Donation ProgramsSponsor a meal – (you could pay for one or more meals each day/month) It cost $3.23 to feed a man on a daily basis. At 18 men it works out to $58.14 per day or at 38 men $122.74 per day. This cost has been able to stay low because of certain donations we receive. This is an opportunity for your family, church or business to help supply the lost and hurting 3 nutritious meals and snacks per day. This is much needed at Psalm 23 Transition Society. We have an average of 2 men per month who enter our program with no available funds. To open a file at welfare can take 3 to 5 weeks. There are others who may not qualify for welfare, so they will have no income at all. We here at Psalm 23 Transition Society have not turned away a man who is hurting and wants to change his life around because of no funding. We believe that the Lord would nurture them back to health and we want to be like Jesus with skin on. This Hope Fund would be used to pay for the shortfall for a clients stay until his funding is in place. The cost per day to provide food, shelter and programs to one client is $27.42. This is a great opportunity to make a difference. Donation ProgramsFOR AS LITTLE AS $20.OO PER MONTH YOU CAN BECOME A STARFISH CLUB MEMBER As a member of the Psalm 23 Starfish Club you will receive our quarterly newsletter and stay up-to-date on struggles, successes and how recovery is working within the men of Psalm 23 Transition Society. The Psalm 23 Starfish Club helps cover the cost needed to ensure that the man in the bed can get the best possible care and time needed to change.
